Assignment Center Deadline Management

Managing deadlines is one of the most important part of being a journalist. Given that the Peabody Press aims to publish once a month, keeping our writers on a regimented schedule is a very important part of my position as editor. However, this is very difficult to do without an external structure to motivate writers. To create that structure, I partnered with my advisor to post deadlines on our schools "Assignment Center" page. This way, journalists are able to see their deadlines more clearly and anticipate rough and final draft deadlines. Writers are held accountable through deduction of points. Each class's agenda is marked in the Assignment Center Page as well. This is the first year in which we have utilized the Assignment Center to this extent.
