Workflow Hub--Spreadsheet
In the past, the Peabody Press has used group spreadsheets to keep track of the status of its articles. However, these spreadsheets have sometimes gotten disorganized and have not fully reflected the progression of our journalistic cycle. I revamped the spreadsheets and used dropdown menus to allow writers to more easily mark their position in the cycle. I designated cycle "stages" to help our writers understand their process: the "research" stage (this means that the writer is getting interviews and looking for sources); the "drafted" stage (the writer has a rough draft); the "revised" stage (the editor or advisor has made edits, but the writer has not yet implemented them); the "edited" stage (all necessary edits have been made); and the "needs photos" stage. Breaking down the cycle into small parts allows us to get the most specific picture of where each writer is in their process, all in a centralized location.
