Two of my best examples of reporting come in the form of articles regarding Supreme Court decisions. Through these articles, I wanted to make complex issues simple for my peers, while using quotes that would convey the importance of the issues they were reading about. The first article deals with the Supreme Court's draft opinion regarding abortion, and how members of my community responded to the decision through protest. That article won second place at the Tennessee High School Press Awards in the News category in 2023. For the second article, I interviewed Alan Ramirez (the Dean of Admissions at Sewanee) to learn more about what the ruling regarding affirmative action would mean for high school students and the future of diversity on college campuses.
